I wrote a review, but it sucks and I need more time to fix it. But, I need to post today and tonight I also need to finish a book so I can make my vlog tomorrow and prepare the stuff that I need to make my Spanish project. So, I'm going to tell you a story, because it won't take long.
The First Book I Ever Remember Reading
Nearly 11 years ago, when I was a little Khy, I remember my mother bring me a book home after preschool.
This book was about Pokemon. I enjoyed Pokemon as a child. But something I did not enjoy as a child was getting help with any school related things, so I was determined to read this Pokemon book on my own.
I took this book into my room- thankfully, my sister was not in the room at the time, as we have shared a room for 11 years- and began to read.
Except I couldn't read it. I tried, and I tried, and I tried, but I could not figure out what Pikachu was doing on his adventure.
Being the determined little preschooler that I was, though, I kept trying to read about Pikachu. But I could not read the book!
I was extremely angry I could not conquer this book. In fact, I was so angry, that I threw the book at the wall and began to cry.
I was a strange child.
I cried for a few minutes. But I would not let this get to me! Oh no, I was too determined to conquer to let it get to me. So I stopped crying, walked right over to the book that was sitting on the floor, picked it up, and read it straight through. I learned all about Pikachu's adventure with Charmander.
And so, Little Khy read her first book on her own. (Well, the first she remembers.)
THE END.
Great story, right? Do you have a story like this, or is your first book story a little less angry?
That story was brilliant. You should sell it and get a million dollars from it.
ReplyDeleteThe first book I remember specifically trying to read on my own was about Sesame Street. I have no idea what it was about, but I remember being determined and getting frustrated--I think I was five or so--and my parents suggesting I take a break and come back to it when I wasn't as frustrated. I took their advice, and when I came back to it a little later, was able to move forward! Which sounds familiar, because I still have issues with being determined and wanting to keep going even when I'm frustrated, when what I really need is a break, even a tiny one.
ReplyDeleteI think I started reading when I was 3. It's been nonstop since! And when I couldn't figure out what the words said, I'd just make up a story to go along with the pictures!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was around five, I went into my parent's room sobbing, whith my favorite book, Two Cows on the Moon, in hand. When my dad asked me what was wrong, I said that I didn't want him reading to me. I WANTED TO READ FOR MYSELF! I'm still pretty independent.
ReplyDeleteOMG! NOT POKEMON! I USED TO READ DIGIMON BOOKS.!!!! I LOVED DIGIMON
